Karen’s first years in recruiting were on the contingency side of the business at a nationally known firm. She enjoyed the service and relationships that came with the exclusive nature of partnerships and built the retained function within the organization. Her accomplishments led the division to become one of the top business units within the entire corporation.
In 1993, Karen took what she loved and built The Chase Group alongside Ken Allison, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer. She has spent more than three decades committed to her passion for executive search in life sciences. Karen is a hands-on leader and thrives on the challenges her clients present.
She is known in the industry for her commitment to clients and the success of the search. Building trust in her professional relationships that thrive beyond client engagement is one of Karen’s strengths. The Chase Group’s reputation includes Karen’s team, who believes in and upholds her values and The Chase process, contributing to the success of these long-standing relationships. Her passion for executive search has continued to grow, and the “WOW” factor is even more important to her today. Something is lost when you value quantity over quality, and The Chase Group has remained a boutique firm because the founders believe in the commitment to be better rather than bigger.
When Karen steps away from her office, she is passionate about gratitude, paying it forward, and doing the small things that make a difference to the people and clients in her life.
As the Co-Founder and COO of the Chase Group, Ken has spent over three decades in life science executive search. His success has been built working with small startups, nonprofits, and large pharmaceutical organizations. Ken welcomes the challenges of complex searches that require additional time and attention to obtain the results for our clients. In his 30+ years in the industry, Ken has worked in numerous therapeutic areas, from bench science to product commercialization at varying levels and organizational sizes. In addition to his executive search activities, Ken oversees the operational management of The Chase Group.
When Ken is away from recruiting, he is known as a sports enthusiast (an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, KU Jayhawks, and Appalachian State University Mountaineers). He enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, sons, grandchildren, and Samoyeds. His life is further enriched by many friends and family.
As Vice President, Moira has 25+ years of executive search experience as a strategic partner in building high-performing teams for innovative life sciences organizations. Insightful about people, she is skilled in building trust and credibility, which leads to her relational success.
Moira started her career with The Chase Group, joining the successful team effort that established their presence in executive recruiting in the life sciences industry. Moira has keen insight into client needs by engaging with individuals to understand, evaluate, and articulate motivations and organizational dynamics.
When Moira steps away from her work at Chase, she can be found spending time with her husband, 3 kids, and friends and cannot wait to get outdoors where she loves to garden, kayak, hike, or simply enjoy daily walks with her very energetic chocolate lab.
